As we start a new year, we’ve been reflecting on last year’s completed and ongoing projects and looking ahead to what’s next to inspire innovation and creative problem solving. Each project in 2025 was unique: client aspirations, scale, and varying sites and landscapes, all with the common intention of creating places and buildings that are resilient, adaptive, healthy and supportive of all life.
On the Alameda Plateau in Portland, we completed an aging-in-place co-housing community, and
across the Pacific Northwest we are continuing designs for additional dwelling types, middle housing projects and larger scale landscape plans.
In Northeast Portland, the Century Terrace courtyard housing started construction with new ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units) for a multigenerational, extended family co-living.

Further south, we are continuing a long-term client collaboration for their property adjacent to Kellogg Pond, which integrates beaver co-existence, habitat restoration, and buildings. Similarly, we have completed a hillside restoration and terracing project at an evergreen ravine, a phase 2 green roof at Alameda Plateau and urban greenhouses and gardens at our East Burnside Studio.
On the Oregon coast, we are continuing long-term resiliency planning with the Cape Meares community on numerous projects including their Watershed Conservancy Project, and the next phase that encompasses the Cape Meares Lake and Estuary. Additionally, we organized speakers to present their recently completed Flower Pot Salmon Superhighway (Trout Unlimited article) and Eelgrass Monitoring projects.
As we work to integrate indoor-outdoor environments and build healthier places, we are grateful to our clients for their confidence, to our collaborators for their partnership, and to our team for their discipline and care in every detail.
In 2026, we look forward to continuing this work with the same steady focus — to design with intention, to build with integrity, and to design spaces that quietly make life better.
We look forward to hearing from you about your upcoming projects!
