This design proposal provides shared outdoor spaces for all neighborhood block residents and integrates access and privacy separation for each. Housing design examples are characterized by outdoor territories, gardens, and site relationships, as well as built-in flexibility of use for a range of tenants: growing, changing, and aging families; singles; roommates; and live/work communities.

 

Our design drew from the approach that many green strategies do not necessarily cost more, but instead are based on best practices resulting from early decisions made in the site planning and building design phase.
