New Heights Physical Therapy Plus
Portland, Oregon 2015
Client(s): Private
Scope of Work: Full architectural services from pre-design through contract administration; assistance with bank financing, architectural documents and City of Portland early assistance process
Our client, an established physical therapy clinic, came to Constructive Form to fully renovate the building into which they wished to expand: NE Glisan Street’s iconic Montavilla Sheet Metal building, which was built in 1912 and moved to its current site in the 1950’s.
Though we preserved the original double height, 7,000-square-foot structure, we gave it a full seismic upgrade, an extensive build-out and a cosmetic overhaul. The resulting space features light-filled atriums, an open gym, a series of private therapy rooms, and several offices and rental spaces. Our approach to the exterior façade, meanwhile, focused on easing access and creating a more pedestrian friendly facade. We also improved the exterior's overall aesthetics, with the particular goal of making this eye-catching building play well with its neighbors.
