West Slope Residence Portland, Oregon 2003
This renovation project takes form around an existing house constructed in the 1920s, which had previously been transformed by several small additions from the 1940s and 1950s. The building is located on a south-facing slope in an older established neighborhood to the west of downtown Portland.
The renovation is designed to sympathetically address the nature of earlier building and the mature landscaping while incorporating contemporary materials and detailing based on current construction techniques. The primary scope of exterior work included the entry porch, siding, trim, and roof. Internally, existing services and insulation are also to be upgraded.
