This home, designed in collaboration with Corey Saft and Lynne Clearfield of CS Design, is sited amongst the high desert terrain of Western Idaho. The spatial layout is arranged around a main level keyed into the slope with wide views from the living areas to the northern hills and over the valley. The roof forms act to enhance this experience and allow for openings to the sky from all four compass orientations. The main entry is sheltered from the weather by the roof eaves and the outdoor kitchen porch adjacent to the primary living space.

 

The primary construction system is a combination of cast-in-place concrete walls with a post-and-beam assembly above. This structure is to be completed with an insulated infill of composite fiber-concrete panels, metal siding and roofing, windows, and glass doors.
