This restaurant is a tenant improvement project located partially below street grade within the Pine Street Studios in the historic Central Eastside Industrial District. Only minimal changes could be made to the exterior of the building; however, the addition of a custom steel and LED sign and a new exterior door provides a subtle introduction to the restaurant.

 

The interior is arranged as a single large room into which two ‘furniture’ elements are placed — an entry stair with landing, and a bar with an open kitchen. Together these create a series of eating areas: a larger area to the east, a smaller and more private zone to the west, and a third along the bar. The lower open plan and high ceiling allow for natural daylighting and visual connections between the street, open kitchen, and seating.
